¡Viva el Sonido! Wind Chime STEM Kit – Where sound meets science, and culture comes alive!

The ¡Viva el Sonido! Wind Chime STEM Kit is a complete, everything-included activity kit that brings together physics, engineering, computer science, and Mexican heritage in a single hands-on experience.

Students explore the science of sound by building a real wind chime from two different materials — wood and aluminum — and discovering how material and length change what they hear. Then they take it further with a bead coding activity that teaches pattern recognition and binary logic using the colors of the Mexican flag. Every element of this kit is intentional: the colors, the sounds, the story.

This kit is part of the TP Designs STEM + Culture series — because representation in STEM starts with what we build, what we celebrate, and whose stories we tell.
